About Oradell

Oradell is seen by many as a quintessential small town with its well kept homes, great schools, walkable downtown, plentiful parks, and easy transportation.  In 2016 NJ Family magazine even named the borough the Best Town for Families after coming in second the year before.  Oradell prides itself on being a great destination for families through its top rated schools and an overall friendly atmosphere.  Shoppers and diners enjoy the downtown district along Kinderkamack with coffee shops, a playhouse, pizzerias, hair salons, and more along a short stretch of road.  That area also offers easy bus transportation and the Oradell Train Station.

Oradell is home to Oradell Public School which serves all of the students in town grades Kindergarten to 6th grade. Oradell is also part of the River Dell Regional Board of Education along with River Edge that runs River Dell Junior and Senior High Schools.  The Mission Statement reads “The Oradell Public School District, a safe and nurturing learning community dedicated to the ongoing pursuit to educational excellence, inspires life-long learning in its students through comprehensive, innovative curriculum and instruction.The District fully supports and expects the attainment the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards on the part of all the students within a school environment designed to maximize student potential, develop responsible citizens, and promote respect for the uniqueness of all individual

Car Transportation

Oradell is conveniently located near many major interstate highways (Route 80, Garden State Parkway, New Jersey Turnpike, Route 287) making it very convenient to travel throughout the area as well as bordering states.

Mass Transit

You also have the opportunity to use mass transit in the form of buses and trains that make stops in the borough.  Oradell is home to the Oradell Train Station located near bot Kinderkamack Road and Oradell Avenue and is serviced by the NJ Transit system.


Oradell Station is part of the NJ Transit system under the Pascack Valley Line.  The line runs to the Hoboken Terminal with connections at Secaucus.  At Hoboken you can connect to NY Waterways, PATH service, and the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail.  The station is frequently daily by locals who travel into Manhattan and other destinations for work.  Parking at the Oradell Station is limited to Oradell residents are allocated by a lottery system.

Bus transportation is also a vital element of commuter accessibility to New York City.  NJ Transit operates buses throughout the area with stops along Kinderkamack Rd.  NJ Transit Bus 165 connects Westwood and New York City with stops in Oradell.  The 165 Bus schedule is subject to change.  Buses run regularly on weekdays and take about an hour depending on traffic to reach the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan.

Air Travel

The Oradell area is services by 3 major international airports Newark Liberty International, John F Kennedy Airport, and Laguardia International Airport with flights to every destination possible.  All major carriers are available and schedules are regular.  Teterboro airport also offers executive and private air travel that is convenient to Oradell.
